Paula Chuter Art
I am a semi abstract artist working mainly in acrylics and mixed media creating atmospheric landscapes.
I am inspired by wide landscapes and open skies, particularly the point where the earth meets the sky. This has come from many years living within the South Downs, walking on the fells of Cumbria and on clifftops in Devon and Cornwall.
I am in awe of the wonderful natural world we live in and try to capture the essence of this by painting what I feel rather than just what I see.
I work from sketches and photographs taken whilst walking which help me to remember my “felt self” in a particular landscape. I build up layers of paint, using different tools for mark making and creating textures, giving the painting depth.
I work from my studio in Midhurst, West Sussex and have exhibited locally at the Oxmarket in Chichester, Yellow Edge Gallery in Gosport and have works for sale on my website PaulaChuterArt.co.uk and at the Emporium Gallery, Durleigh Marsh, Rogate.
Below is a small selection of my work which is currently available to purchase, please contact me for further details.
